Scenic Route Elephant Tag with Creative Paperclay® and ImPRESSive Putty

Hi Friends:  Did you know that you can make your own Creative Paperclay® molds from favorite objects that you have around the house?  It's really easy with a product called ImPRESSive Re-Usable Putty.  The Creative Paperclay® design team was given the opportunity to try using this reusable putty with our paperclay.  It was great!  I chose to create a mold of a favorite elephant pin that belonged to my mom.  I followed the directions on the package to prepare the putty, then pressed the elephant pin into the clay, let it harden using the package directions, then removed the pin.  I created this great elephant mold that I can use any time I want.  And, if I decide that I want to make a mold of something else, all I have to do is reuse the putty with another charm/item that I choose.

Once your mold is ready, you can use Creative Paperclay® to make a clay embellishment to use on your projects.  Here's a project that uses my elephant mold with other Wilton molds to make this fun tag:

Here are some detail photos of the cast elephant and flowers, along with the sentiments that I used:

Here's the original pin and the mold that I created:

Directions: Please see my video tutorial for full instructions for how I created the mold and the tag.  I do have to confess that, in the middle of filming the tag project, I spilled a large amount of ink on my craft table.  So the final background colors changed a bit during the filming. LOL.  But, I decided to make the best of the happy (?) accident and just go with the change in the colors.

Rose Blessing Card for Stinkin' Inkers Challenge Blog

Hi Friends:  There is a new challenge today over at the Stinkin' Inkers Challenges Blog, where the current theme is Color Wheel - use your favorite color combinations.

My creation for this week is a card using colors based on my favorites - sun and ocean.  So I used yellows and blue/greens to make this rose card:

I hope that you are inspired by my creation and will join us over at the Stinkin' Inkers Challenges Blog to see the creations of the other design team members and enter this fun challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Inky day!

Directions:
Stamp rose image onto smooth white cardstock and color with Spectrum Noir Markers, then cut out the image.  Shape rose with flower shaping tool, then add Glitter Brush marker to rose.  Cover rose with Glossy Accents and sprinkle with ultra-fine glitter for more shine and sparkle.  Cut striped paper to fit A2 card base.  Add matching patterned paper layer to top.  Cut 5 smaller roses from the yellow patterned paper using the die and layer over the center panel on the card.  Add the rose image to the card with foam squares.  I doubled the squares in the middle of the rose for more dimension.  Stamp the sentiment and frame onto coordinating paper and cut with the matching die.  Add to the lower side of the card. Finish with some lace tucked behind the rose petals.

Duplicity Work of Art for SheepSki Design Challenges

Hi Friends:  It's time for a new challenge over at the SheepSki Designs Challenges Blog!  The theme for this month is Feature a Creature.

Here's my project for this month's challenge - I used this awesome digital stamp called Duplicity from SheepSki Designs.  As soon as I saw this image, I knew I wanted to do a mixed media tag with it.  I used lots of fun products, including Prima waxes, crackle paint, and embossing pastes to add lots of color and texture.  So much fun!

I hope that you are inspired by my project - instructions and supplies are listed below.  Come have some fun with a hand-colored image and join us for this month's challenge!  As long as you follow the challenge rules, you are eligible for prizes!  For inspiration, stop by the blog and see all of the great design-team projects for the challenge. You can also join in the Facebook challenges in the SheepSki Designs Digital Stamps Facebook group.

If you love the SheepSki digis as much as I do, use this code for a discount when ordering: SKIPATTI10.  Happy stamping and coloring!

Instructions:
Print image onto smooth white cardstock and color with Spectrum Noir markers, then fussy cut the image.  Print duplicate image onto vellum, fussy cut the large butterfly, and color the back / non-printed side with Spectrum Noir markers, then use alcohol sanitizer gel to smudge the color around. Add clear crackle paint to the skull image - exclude the rose and large butterfly.  Once dry, add Glossy Accents to the rose and butterfly body, then sprinkle fine glitter into the wet Glossy Accents on the rose. Use clear foam squares to add the butterfly wing to the skull.  Use embossing paste with the Crackle stencil to add texture to the tag, then cover it with black gesso.  Once dry, color the tag with Prima Waxes. Add sentiment, then color with the same Prima waxes.  Wrap black thread around the tag, then adhere the skull using a piece of recycled cardboard to add dimension.  Finish with some matching fibers through the top of the tag.
